looks like it went well, would have commented on the article but commenting hasnt been enabled yet l assume.

still looks a lil funky to what l was expecting.. assume you will be redoing the forum skin or bring the rest of the site in line with the forums theme.. just sorta curious :)

Probably more like the other way around but first I have to decide upon the CMS style.

In the short term I'd like to make the forum colours a little darker as IMO they're too soft.

Erm, the smilies aren't clickable.
they are, at least for me.. check your browser settings.

@Mark
looking forward to it, love playing around with new things lol.

I am not sure about the new colour scheme, it looks a bit washed out to me; but perhaps I will get used to it :hrmph:

Oh look! smilies work for me :)

actually that ability is still there, just under a different icon.

It's always been done automatically :) , unless you have cookie's disabled in your browser due to an overzelous security setting. Otherwise if you scroll to the bottom of the front forum index page then there's a "Mark forums as read" link just above the bottom.

at the moment double click the
forum_new-48.png
icon, and it will show the forum as read, its somewhat annoying but achieves the same effect as it would clicking "mark forums read" however its one forum at a time with the method l suggested.

Mark, where's the "Report" button?

Edit: Ok, found it. Doesn't stand out as much as the old one.

Yeah it could do with being RED instead of black, should be an easy edit with colour hues.

Out of interest, has anybody else had the problem where the forum isn't keeping them logged in. I've not had it myself but Kits has. Do remember to manually logout of the new system and then log back in. It could be that an old vB3 cookie is causing a conflict.

I did notice a similar behaviour when beta testing but found that it passed after a day or so. I put it down to a vB3 vs vB4 cookie conflict there too.

Not had that problem here. In fact, other than (like PeeJay) scratching my head over where the "Report" button had gone to, no problems at all if we ignore the fact that vB4 is a slug, which I appreciate you can't do much about.

Forum has been running fine for a couple of weeks now so I will gradually start to add in some new features, starting with a tougher anti-spam mod. With any luck it should act as a firewall to filter out the fake spammers and save us a lot of valuable time having to clear it up.

Screenshot and which web browser?

Installed a new anti-spam system just this moment, albeit not yet fully enabled. Will see how it goes over the coming week.
