A friend lives in a remote Somerset village. 1Mb broadband on FTTC, just so far from cab.
There is a fibre cable in an Openreach duct nearby and the caravan site next door has just installed "fibre" - not sure what but guess its a leased line.
If he requests FTTPoD is it likely to be cheap as there is fibre next door/nearby?
If he waits and requests USO will he likely get a better than 10Mb speed as they will deliver FTTP or FTTC via a new cab in the village/hamlet?
BTW, Openreach recently stated that all fibre is one network now, not separate fibre for FTTC and leased line.
