v21 - Want to cancel

Judging from the number of replies in this thread V21 still have some major issues (and yes ours is still unresolved)

Can I ask ISPReview reps why the ISP's complaints page is never updated - or do they only list ISP's not sponsoring you :p

I feel this is an unfair remark Darren if those who complian in the forums do not also go here to fill in the complaint then Mark J will not add it to the complaints page.

I will draw Mark.J's attention to this thread so he can also reply incase I am wrong.

People need to fill in a complaints e-mail as per the related page for their complaints to be registered, I only see about one every week for V21 just like BT, Wanadoo and others. You need 3 to be listed, which is pretty easy to get and we only try to show wider spread problems.

Since last Friday we've currently got 3 for Tiscali, one for 'Be' and nothing for V21. Remember you can re-submit a complaint each week if it's still valid and your ISP hasn't yet been listed (once it’s on the page we won't take a second complaint about the same ISP from the same person).

Posting in the ISP Complaints forum is not the same as making an official complaint to the site - we've said that many times, some just never listen or have the patience to read the page properly.

ps,i've updated my profile to include my homepage-check it out and you will see why V21's claims to be "it's "faulty wiring" was utter bs! Maybe now you believe some of my comments-with over 15 years in IT and running my own company i know a ISP issue when i see one!!

I hadn't realised that you could re-submit complaints, perhaps you could make it clearer on the complaint page.

Fortunately, my complaint was satisfactorarily resolved.

Are complaints against ISP's using alternate trading names and resellers grouped together with those for the ISP providing the actual service/billing, or counted separately?

Amazing, it's been 4 years since I escaped the clutches of the V21 cowboys, and here we are, still the same old complaints, and the same old non/service.

The mind boggles as to why people put their thumbprint on V21's contract, don't they ever read about an ISP before they sign, the warnings have been there for years yet the mugs still flock to the gates on the promise of cheap service.

No sympathy for people who can't be bothered to check on an ISP's credentials before parting with their hard earned cash.
Cut your losses, cancel your D/D's and credit cards, take the hit in your wallets and go elsewhere, but for cods sake CHECK them first.

Thing is a was a dail-up customer for years with no problems! Only ADSL caused all the trouble for me but V21's attitude does seem to have gone down hill big style.......

I've been with v21 for almost two years now and used dial up as well as broadband. Apart from a couple of connection problems everything is fine. I would recommend them to anyone.

Most don't like to identify who the actual provider behind them is, making this too difficult to do.

Watch out Jeff certain members will Flame and insult you for saying V21 are OK.
It appears freedom of speach is the reserve of those complaining and the counter opinion or view is not acceptable. However, traiding personal insult is apparently acceptable behaviour on this forum.

Exactly so big_j...unfortunately those who enjoy a trouble free connection fail to realise that there are others out there who are getting the run around from the ISP, or ignored plain and simple when they complain.

Interjecting their "My connection is fine and my ISP is my lover" posts only tend to inflame the situation and should be erased as soon as they appear if only to moderate tempers.

IMHO those who DO enjoy a trouble free connection should post their praises in a forum that IS NOT ENTITLED "ISP Complaints & Problems"
:)

Possibly, but then again it would certainly be reasonable to post a comment if one has had direct experience relevant to the problem that was being complained about and it was resolved in a more statisfactory manor - And, I believe he did comment that he had a 7 day outage when he switched from IPstream to a datastream service (while some might complain about 7 days without a service, I'm sure he must have appreciated when he chose to do this that there was a potential for such issues)

What I do think is unreasonable is to suggest that reviews were posting "spite" because their experiences differ from his own. I also think the allegations against BT were unfair and unreasonable.

Nobody is suggesting that V21 doesn't have satisified customers, It would be impossible for an ISP to remain in business for any length of time if they did not. And I'm not so sure he's doing the isp any favours by reviving a dying thread - some might actually read the complaints in the thread that otherwise would have missed it.
