Video converter

Hi,
I'm looking to download a free video converter that does most formats, but mostly for 3gp to mpeg/wmv
I've tried avs but this has a watermark in the centre of the video
Anyone know of a good one to download?

Regards,
Jason

Not sure if this will do precisely what you want, but DVDforger is free and seems to work with almost everything I throw at it except the newer MP4 HD stream types.

I tried a whole bunch of others myself not long ago but most of them were either restrictive trials, didn't do what I want or installed spyware on your system.

You just hit the nail on the head.
I also scanned the one's that I downloaded and found viruses/trojans.

I don't really want to make a dvd, just convert the videos from my phone 3gp to mpeg or wmv to watch on my pc.

Cheers Mark.

I think you'll be very disappointed with the results. Because 3gp files are so small, and are usually a low frame rate, such as 15 frames per second, when you convert them and make them bigger, the picture will be quite blocky, and when they play, the movement will be jerky due to the low frame rate.

3gp files normally have a video resolution of 176x144 or 128x96. Whacking these up to even lo-res 320x240 will result in blocky and non-sharp displays.

Your right mate, but its just quick vids of my kids on the spare of the moment thing. Just something to look back on later in life.
Problem with phones... cameras getting better... vids stayin rubbish.

Thanks for your responce.

I'm sure I tried that one as well.
I ended up with Tucows. Did the job well enough for me.
So many to chose from.

Thanks.

They're clever these days, but after years of dealing with them Kits and I have become quite good at spotting spammers (often before they even post) :) .
