OK, it's old, but it still makes me giggle.

Viewers baffled as BBC news presenter brandishes printing paper instead of iPad

BBC news presenter Simon McCoy picked up a stack of printing paper instead of his iPad for on-air presentation about drunkenness, but just "went with it" after spotting his mistake.

Is that why the BBC "Home" page was unavailable for many people yesterday??? They were trying to run it on a ream of A4??

Credits to him and a nice bit of advertising for a certain paper company :)

I was a bit puzzled as to why there would be "printing paper" in the studio. I'm pretty sure that newsflashes don't arrive in the form of a fax. At least, I've never seen a presenter lean across to pull a newly arrived fax off the machine and announce breaking news :)

Correct, they have unpaid flunkies (sorry "interns"), to do that for them.

Dear me, dear me - you've never worked for a large organization, have you? ;)

All offices of large companies have a photocopier - and a ream of paper to go with it, of course. This is so that a female employee, on joining the company, can photocopy her bum and pass copies (with her name on) around to her male colleagues.

This is essential for the smooth operation of the office, as it's the only way they will recognize her, so when the boss says "Pete - ask Shirley to sort out [whatever] for me, will you?", Pete can sift through his collection of posterial "selfies" to find out who Shirley is.
:p
