Virgin Freedom

I know i posted my life about FAST4 but i just had to share this with you also.

Because i will be leaving FAST4 i was looking for an alternative. I saw Virgin were offering 8MB unlimited for 17.99 per month. I thought i'd ring them to find out more.

Virgin Freedom (in case you don't know) is for people who can't / Don't want cable amd they use the existing standard copper wire like BT etc.

Well, the sales assistant informed me that it was completely unlimited and that it was £17.99 per month. Not Bad i thought. But i remembered that on ISP Review it mentions they have a fair use policy.

So i asked if they have a fair use policy. She said "Yes it's 40GB". I said that's a limit and therefore not an unlimited account. She said "It was more than enough for what i'd need per month". I said Maybe, but it's still a limit, therefore not an unlimited account....??? At this point i'm laughing bigstyle.

I thought the use of Fair Policy was bandwidth restriction not GB limit. Am i missing something here?

But she did make me laugh...

these days unlimited is limited.. take AOL they say there unlimited but they ask you to leave if you go over 60GB and by the standards of Ofcom this is ok this isnt mis-selling.. imho this is a really big breach of customer rights that we at this second cannot complain that products we are sold are been sold to us under false pretences.

Hi Timeless,

Well, if Ofcom say that this is within guidelines then they can go forth too. They are wrong. To me this is misrepresentation and will continue to be.

It's like buying a flight to Spain for 0.01p only to end up paying £49. The flight is £49 no more no less. The flight is most definately not 0.01p. That, to me, is mis selling and one that the law should investigate and change.

I have a complete Mercedes for sale if your interested - it's only 0.05p. 55 plate air con, top of the range model etc etc.

The key to start it, which is also required as part of the sell, is only £55,000.

Where do we stop.

E-bay is another culprit.

Buy something for £3.00 and to post it to you it will cost £25. That is just plain wrong. Do people think we are that thick or what??

...yes is the simple answer, however the problem is for most of us we need said service to either work and or well just as part of our daily lives now.. we have no choice but to use these products.

Can't i buy the Merc off you for 5p and then go to my dealer and get a new key :p where do i sign

Sorry oenphat,

Although i advertised it as a Merc it really is a four million year old rellic with wooden wheels and twigs holding the floor together. Oh, and you have to push it along with your feet like Fred Flinstone.

Certainly worth the money i'm asking though.

I can see the resemblance to my advert and FASt4's can't you???
