still better then openreach upload :) share screenshots when you have this plan.

sorta, for residential 110 up packages, yes. OR will do 1000/220 packages, but they're not (or weren't) priced competitively so ISPs didn't pick them up.

Good luck with the Trial :) more upload is good to see but it's still in line with their 10:1 strategy, so I don't think it's anything special / different.

Which trial?

Which trial?
XGSPON trial in Scarborough, its live now though so more jumped on, was expected to be put on to a paying contract by now but they extended it some more :)

2000, very nice! Waiting for XGS-PON to be turned up here. How do you find Gig1 on it so far?
it's been pretty solid, to be honest. The alternative is 20/5 which I'll never go back to haha, luckily I knew they were coming to install a few months before, so I managed to prep where I wanted it installed, soo happy I did it as it's hidden away under the stairs.

I'm glad you posted this, as somebody else had reported the trial to me before, but I didn't yet have a second source to confirm.. now I do :).

Do Virgin Media just randomly pick customers for the trials, or is there somewhere to register interest in taking park?

I'm assuming location will probably also play a factor.

Yeah I am in a similar position.

I have AAISP @ 60Mbps, (which is arguably not bad for VDSL)
Starlink - nice but expensive for 300Mbps, but I'll happily take it

And I load balance things that use multiple connections for download so get 360-400 at best through it.

However, there is absolutely no substitute for full fibre, so looking forward to finally ordering VM Gig1.

we see a Virgin guy checking the work done on the Poles, asked him about it whens it coming etc, as I knew it was coming, just didn't know when, watched the progression on the poles etc with the boxes that OR put on it then AV Online moved up / connected, the guy said someone is going around trying to find people to test it out, said he'd pass my info on if he see him again, 20 minutes later, get a call, went and found the guy and signed up haha, happened so fast to be honest, was expecting to wait ages.

is it being installed in your area also? https://bidb.uk and https://one.network are really good for keep an eye on it

It is definitely being installed where I live, I watched Avonline dig the pavement in front of my house last month :) bidb.uk is useless in Wales for some reason, it is now wildly inaccurate.

The recent publication of their rollout plan confirms we are due to be completed in "next three months". Would be nice if I could place an order today and get a few free months, but looking at anecdotal evidence out there suggests it may be a few more months until I can order, despite the OLT being in place since June and all around me being dug - but working for a full fibre provider I know how this goes :)

to get free months you'd have to find someone walking about trying to get people to trial it, which they might not be doing, but never know!

There was a black Friday deal that ended yesterday offering 3 months free.

That's fine though, I'd just be happy to be able to order it at this point.
