Virgin Mobile migration of its customers on to O2 Network

This has been a total disaster for me. I was sent a new sim which I had to swap for my old one or my service would no longer work. Followed all instructions to the letter and to cut a really long story short since then all I get is a few texts coming through. No data , unable to make and receive phone calls...if someone tries to ring me they get number not recognised. The only network my phone connects to is vodafone uk NOT O2.

Am now on the second replacement sim and the issues are the same.

The company are supposedly investigating as there are others in my situation.

This has been since 27/9/2022. It is not acceptable to take my money and leave me with no service.

Anyone else? if so has it been rectified?

No, it's out of control. They migrated 3 million Virgin users from Vodafone on O2's already struggling network...

Do your worse to cancel your contract and stay away from O2 for the foreseeable.

Going to have to move elsewhere soon I think. Thanks.

I just phoned virgin mobile and eventually the man said I had better leave!!!!! gave me my PAC code there and then, have been a customer with them for ever . Given me the run around now for three and a half weeks.
If it worked well for you before, then look at going back to Vodafone as that's what they were using previously.
Check Lebara, as they have great prices and also on Vodafone.

It was actually better for me before Vodafone so have just ordered a BT sim who use EE which is fine here. Hopefully be up and running again in a couple of days. Thanks for your help.

I took the O2 sim as a cheap way to get gig1, I told them I was on EE, however luckily my second phone had a giffgaff sim, so swapped it for the O2 sim as a no brainer and ported the number across.

Glad you found a way out. Am with BT now and all working properly, I was getting paranoid that my phone had a fault. They still have not replied to my official complaint...doubt they will.
