Vispa Dos

Can anyone update me? What is going on? No email and no access to Vispa.com since 21/08 I've seen that Vispa was under attack but this happens all the time to lots of companies and they get things fixed.

Vispa is quite the worst company I've dealt with for lack of response. Closed at weekends so no telephone support and of course emailing and accessing the website is out of action.

Correctly sized teams of telephone support people working 24/7 is the least we should be getting, if only to tell us how long they intend to be before restoring the service.

Anyone else in the same predicament?

That was almost a week ago!

I don't have broadband with Vispa, only an old PAYG dial-up account, but that is working, I am getting my e-mail no problem irrespective of whether I use POP3 or their webmail, and their web site is also up and running, including the "My account" bit - I had a prod around the rest and couldn't find anything that was *not* working!

I'm on Vispa broadband and have had no problems at all with email. The usergroup forums were down for a few days recently (I think they were having a rearrangement of the server) but the rest of the site is up.

Why didn't you try contacting them on the phone during the week?

guestR, im not quite sure why you have not taken a few minutes to call our helpline during opening hours?

Vispa hasn’t suffered a Dos attack, we suffered an exploit on one of our web servers which is quite a common occurance these days. Access to our website was restored within 6 hours.

This would indicate an issue with your broadband connection itself. Please feel free to call our helpdesk tomorrow morning – 08701 624 888 and we will endevour to get your connection restored.

Please feel free to ask for myself.

Alternativly, if you are online now, please pm your username and i will call.

Well it worked for a day or two and now it is once again not working. I can get at anything except stuff related to Vispa. No email no Vispa.com. I wouldn't recommend anyone to telephone the number above as it never lets you through to speak to anyone about anything. That is my experience anyway.

I will send you a pm. I do understand and value the enthusiasm of a salesperson. A positive mental attitude is essential to your work. Just explain to me how the fault could be with my broadband when I can do anything except those things involving the Vispa server?:hrmph:

Methinks your service has actually run out of steam. You billed me three times last month, twice "in error" and it was paid back. An unkind suspicion is inevitable however, maybe the company is in some sort of financial trouble and cannot serve its customers. I hope I'm completely wrong, if only because I'd like to avoid the notorious difficulty of changing my ISP provider.

guestR,

Our senior support technician will call you this evening.

I must say, im a little puzzled as to why you cannot get though to our support team on 08701 624 888?

It’s very rare that we ever have more than 3 people in the queuing system. In fact, it actually tells you your position in the queue?

What times are you calling?

Regards

I'm calling whenever it fails. As it has done again this morning 10:39 09/09/2006.

I've just connected to my employer's server and from there connected to your website and then reported the fault, as of course the 'phone is no good because your office is closed. Is there a problem for Vispa connecting to the Peak District at the weekends? The fault seems to happen mostly at weekends.
