I've set my Lebara SIM to SA only 5G... Saw it connect, but the speeds are rubbish. Sadly I didn't have cellmapper running, gonna see if I can latch onto it again and see what bands it is using.
www.cablefree.net
But it's not being used here. Nor is it used by vodafone I don't believe. The speeds show B20, Cellmapper says B20 LTE, @ 10MHz which is vodafones 4G allocationn20 does exist:

n20 - 5G NR Frequency Band - 800MHz FDD - CableFree
n20 is a frequency band designated by the 5G NR standard. n20 covers 791 to 862 MHz. Note that in 5G, NR bands are defined with prefix of "n".www.cablefree.net
I think SA isn't officially launched by any of the UK operators just yet? And the ping 47ms hints it's still of 4G connection?I've set my Lebara SIM to SA only 5G... SA 5G is available on all operators bar Three so far. Look on cellmapper, Vodafone has the most SA live sites.I think SA isn't officially launched by any of the UK operators just yet? And the ping 47ms hints it's still of 4G connection?
Just tried EE on my Xiaomi mi 10t Lite near Borough Market in Central London, SA doesn't work.SA 5G is available on all operators bar Three so far. Look on cellmapper, Vodafone has the most SA live sites.
SA is only in certain areas with the enabled masts I believe.Just tried EE on my Xiaomi mi 10t Lite near Borough Market in Central London, SA doesn't work.
I've set the phone to NR only, I assume this means SA. Won't connect.
Hi uknowiama,What is "SA" .. "NR" .. trying to learn. Thanks.
Hi uknowiama,
NR is New Radio, meaning 5G and SA is Stand Alone meaning a 5G signal that doesn't require the 4G network to operate.
NSA is Non Stand Alone meaning a 5G signal that still requires a 4G network to work.
Most 5G in the UK is still NSA.
There, clear as mud.![]()
National Security Agency. The downside of having an NSA network is the government see everything though!
National Security Agency.
You can remove the tin foil now
You'll have to keep petitioning your council to stop the masts then. But then the 5G will get to me

I'd be more concerned about the Bluetooth, it's everywhere.
Will be interested to know where these SA enabled sites are at!SA is only in certain areas with the enabled masts I believe.
Have a look on Cellmapper -Will be interested to know where these SA enabled sites are at!

I'll visit the Vodafone masts in Wolves later this week to see if it's active now, I know it's appeared on cellmapper for a long time as SA despite being unconnectable. Assuming some Vodafone insider used Cellmapper when it first appeared.Wolverhampton, Birmingham, London, Cardiff, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester
Or it's a poorly configured MVNO incorrectly connecting to 5G SA and being kicked off?I'll visit the Vodafone masts in Wolves later this week to see if it's active now, I know it's appeared on cellmapper for a long time as SA despite being unconnectable. In what it called a "commercial pilot," Vodafone UK has launched availability of 5G standalone (SA) services in London, Manchester and Cardiff.
