Vodafone SA 5G

IT will just be 2g instead when they turn off 3g which will be useless

They need to get people off 2g and 3g and onto 4g ASAP and get all old sites 4g tey are slacking

Can you explain what concurrent connections means I mean is this faster per user I don’t get it
Concurrent being a cell having X number of devices all using that cell for its signalling at a given moment.

We're not talking throughput speeds here, we're talking capacity of a cell to serve X number of devices - to negotiate/setup/connect/disconnect sessions per device per timeframe - 5G SA has more capacity for this than 4G

When a 4G cell is saturated due to a large number of devices attempting to you end up getting next to no throughput as it spends a lot of its capacity managing the connections themselves, rather than delivering user data throughput. 5G SA, in theory, alleviates that to an extent whereby it can handle a larger number of concurrent connections before getting to the point where the signalling prevents delivery of user data.

That isn't to say the resultant total throughput speed of the deployed bandwidth split by the large number of devices will be very usable for certain tasks, but what bandwidth is available should deliver more user data than it would for the same bandwidth under 4G.
