The operator earlier made its first commercial call over an open RAN site in Spain at the start of MWC. It's running trial sites in the UK, Turkey and other markets as well.

Vodafone targets OpenRAN in 30 percent of European masts by 2030
Vodafone has announced a new target at Mobile World Congress (MWC) of using OpenRAN technology in 30 percent of its masts across Europe by 2030. The announcement was made in a speech at MWC by Vodafone Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Johan Wibergh.He said that around 30,000 Vodafone mast sites across Europe will use OpenRAN technology by 2030, with rural areas the first to benefit from the new 4G and 5G masts.
