Vodafone terminates account, no warning. + BT Complete failure

Had been with Vodafone for 2 years or so, on the 28th August Vodafone terminates my home broadband with no notification.

After spending an hour in-store(Unable to help) and 30 mins on the phone they gave me the excuses

“Your neighbour has taken your phone line”
“Go talk to your neighbour”
“There is nothing I can do”
“Would you like to be a new customer”

This is laughable. Why on earth would I want to be a new customer, I didn’t ask to stop being a customer.
Vodafone must have too many customers and is deciding to trim some off.

Vodafone probably didn’t do this on purpose and if it’s your neighbour that did this by mistake (I’m not entirely sure how because your home internet would now be supplied by another supplier surely..)

As much as it’s annoying you can just get service again through them or any other provider and your issue is resolved.

Also, if you end up paying extra due to this, then you could eventually take it through the ADR (ombudsman) complaints handler and let them deal with Vodafone.

The ISP has clearly made a mistake and if SLAMMING is involved (taking over a service without the customer's express consent) then that's a big no-no under Ofcom's rules.

This will be an erroneous line take over most likely.

Raise a complaint here:

This will go to their CEO complaints team who will look at getting this resolved for you ASAP.

An update since I’m not any closer to having any resolution yet.
So after talking to people in different continents from Vodafone they say the line was taken over by BT and there is absolutely nothing they can do for me now.

Now I was scheduled to have FTTP connected on the 17th August but couldn’t due to permission to dig required and civil work needing to be done. (fair enough)
So my line gets disconnect by BT even though they don’t provide me with any service and I can’t really sign up for another service from any other company.

First BT operator says best to cancel this FTTP install and phone back up in couple of days to request new install.

Get random visit from Openreach Engineer says that he can’t do anything for me since the job had been cancelled down so the job needs to be reopened. By this point its been a couple of weeks and still no forward on the permission to dig so engineer marks out where the civil work needs to be done.

So, I phone back up raise a complaint. BT say they will try and find out what’s happening for the FTTP and set me up with a temporary broadband line until the FTTP goes live.

Since I’ve raised the complaint, I’ve had several calls from BT supposedly to give me updates, half the time its incorrect information or just don’t have any information worth of any use.
“good news you are scheduled an engineer visit to install your FTTP on 29th September”
“Have you got date for the civil work?”

“No, but we shall just wait till then see what happens”

Now thankfully the OR engineer, someone who thankfully knows something has already informed me of what is actually happening.

So, my temporary line was supposed to go live on the 17th September. It’s now the 2nd October guess what still no broadband, what a surprise. There have been around 4 calls from BT in which they just blame something at the exchange. Last call I asked if the equipment was activated at the exchange, does anyone know what lines need to be connected, does an engineer need to come out to trace the line. “Can’t find out due to supplier being closed on the weekend”. Well if you phoned on Friday like you advised then you would have been able to find out.

TLDR
BT gets my broadband supplied by a different supplier cancelled, now been without broadband for over a month, BT don’t seem to have much of clue about what’s happening

Congratulations if you have made it to the end.
