Vodafone Unlimited Max (5G) speed

Hey everyone.

I have a Huawei B535 4G Router. Currently getting 100Mbps with B1+B7+B20 aggregation using huaCtrl on fast.com and speedtest.net.

In my Mi 10 Lite 5G phone I get around 250MBps.

Would I get the same speeds as my phone or more if I get a Huawei B818 or Netgear Nighthawk M1 router?

Also, I couldn't find any information regarding this but are there any fair usage limits with Vodafone Unlimited Max? I will be using this instead of fibre home broadband and don't want to run into any issues with the provider.

Your phone is CAT18 whilst the B818 is CAT19 but the B818 router isn't really a full 5g router, it can only do a few bands. (Its like "HD-ready" was to early LCD's, its "5g ready")

Also there is two versions of the B818, the B818-263 can only do 4x4 mimo, the B818-260 is 8x8 mimo so slightly better, but it'd need more antenna to even make that possible so its a bit of a misnomer really.

I'd go for a proper 5g router (if you are lucky enough to actually get it at home) and use your mobile tethering until you find one good enough for what you're after.

If you limit the xiaomi to 4g how much speed do you get? That's what you should expect from the b818, that or a little better.

A good 5g router is the Huawei CPE Win, I use it with EE works great (maxes out at 500mbps in a good day), but I would not invest in it if 250mbps is all you get. Is the 5g speed on xiaomi higher if you go outside?

I'd also be interested in this as am also running a Huawei B-535 with an EE SIM - I get speeds of around 148Mpbs down/56Mbps up at last check, which seems to work fine and I keep within the 1000GB fair usage policy.

However, if Vodafone Max 5G is truly unlimited data package then it may be worth looking into this if 4G/5G performs better.

This is on 4G last night. Found a better location near a window inside.

@Vegeta that's awesome, I recommend you get the CPE win, you could mount it outside the windows, you should also be able to fix that upload by locking the primary band to one that's wider.

Borrowed a Netgear Nighthawk M1 from a friend. It's a LTE Cat 16 device so I'm surprised I haven't been able to get more than 100Mbps from it in the same location my phone can get 300Mbps+ inside near the window upstairs.

The Nighthawk is supposed to be quit good, though of course the M1 is getting a bit old now. I expect B818 to be faster.
