Voneus FTTP

Does anyone know anything about them and the router they supply ? There seems little info out there on them. They are about to start trenching here and it is them or mediocre FTTC for 4 years. Their website is short on information as well.

Voneus provide FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) and more recently FTTP, as you have pointed out. They have recently started providing a type of ZyXEL router, at least they have done for their "Fibre WiFi" customers.

Thanks for your time. I read those links (I'm not in those areas mentioned). WiFi excepted is there much difference (speed rather than bells and whistles) between ISP supplied routers for FTTP ?
I am surprised that there is so little information on Voenus.
As we have been left behind by Openreach for the next four years as it is a D.I.G. street, I best not look a gift horse in the mouth.

To be honest if you need the additional configurability and manageability from having your own router…you’ll already know about it.

So go with an ISP router and bolster the WiFi as you need and lead a simple life.

If you need the added router functionality down the track, then rip and replace when needed.

It is only going to feed my VPN firmware flashed router.
I now have to think if I need a (VOIP) landline or not. I don't want to have to take a mobile phone with me every time I move rooms or go upstairs just in case there may be an urgent call. Sod's law the battery will go flat or I won't hear it where I left it if there is one.
I may be counting my chickens a bit too soon, weather permitting they should start trenching this week, so I'll know soon if it will be available, or they "do an Openreach" in our street and skip it.
