Voneus in Priddy

Hi,

Voneus started installing radio units on houses today in Priddy in the 1st phase of their deployment. My house was on the list for install but on arrival the installer realized that my house is not within sight of the relay points. There are only a couple of properties that are trying to taking up the service on my stretch of road so this has left me concerned that we may get overlooked. Of course the issue with service coming to an area is that those who for whatever reason miss-out are left in a far worse position than before. The chances of another provider coming to the rescue are remote and your property is instantly less desirable than all the other ones with service. Maybe it is too early to get depressed as this is only phase 1 and who knows, they may find a way to get a signal to me - but I am a glass half empty sort of person.

Chris.

On talking with a neighbour further down the road who has the same issue, they got a more positive message from the installer who said they would find a way to connect them. I have a rather severe anxiety related mental health disorder and I find the uncertainty extremely distressing. It is far too early for me to judge Voneus, they may yet shine through.

I'd politely register your frustration to Voneus and ask what options may exist to resolve the problem going forward, which should make it absolutely clear to them that you really want to find a solution and are kept in their thoughts.

It may be that Voneus can install an additional relay point to help reach your house or perhaps just a higher pole extension for the antenna will do, but all of these things have their caveats (cost etc.). I hope they're able to connect you as your point about being overlooked is very valid.

Well, I have an install date now so it looks like I am not going to be left out :D No idea where the new relay point is but it sounds like they have got it sorted. Maybe I was worrying about nothing, I tend to do that. I believe the main mast is being installed on the 14th/15th so it is getting closer. Goodbye Openreach
