We just heard that BT is set on trials on all exchanges who support line speed up to 2Megabits will soon having a new ADSL2+ up to 8Megabits in Autumn 2005 if the trials start in April 2005 is successfully.

Do we need higher speed and will you join in ?

just to srtaiten things up

''BT is set on trials on all exchanges who support line speed up to 2Megabits will soon having a new ADSL2+ up to 8Megabits ''

this is incorrect.

8mbit will be adsl technology and not adsl2+. adsl2+ will be trailing speeds of 18mbit

but yeah i would love to have 8mbit with a reasonable cap, with a higher upload ofcourse

If the French can do it (ADSL 2+) for 30 euros/month - link - then hopefully prices will be lower than you might expect. Seems to me the cost is all about data transfer, not the basic speed. :hrmph:

Personally I would rather have a stable supply which does not ever slow down rather than the world quickest which can degrade !!
Andy I share your views; I do not want ADSL to degenerate as dialup did. Reliable, stable service at a reason price is more important to me.

It's like having a car that does 150 MPH and being on the M6 or M25 in a traffic jam.
