VOXI eSIM loophole

Didn't get around to do this, but I have a question maybe someone knows

What happens to eSIMs if you change/lose/damage your phone? You just request another one? Or can I keep a copy of the QR code and re-use it?

I could reuse my esim.net qrcode 2-3 times, when I wanted to use it one more time it didn't work, but I got in touch with them and they issued me a new qrcode.

Thanks i'll have a shot at this tonight then and will report back if it works or not.

So you're going after the £13 one as a backup?
No i've got a new Vodafone physical SIM I'm going to swap to esim. Doesn't seem to want to let me right now, it's giving me the 24 hours message.

I've literally just tried it and this was the message, I have no eSIM order in progress. Will keep trying. Tried 3 times but same message so far.

Ahh, ok, well, don't know how much of what I said about my esim.net is valid for your voxi one. Once the transfer goes through and you're on the esim.. try to ring voxi support, see if they can generally help with esim matters at all.

That said, vodafone has esim contract plans stating £6/m..not good enough?

Only want this temporarily, to go in my phone which is a Pixel 6a and the second SIM is e-sim only :(

Hi,

I've just done this and have signed up with Voxi and paid for a month, at the moment I am getting the "Please wait while we squash the last few bugs message." LOL.

I have requested a STAC to see if things move on.

Some observations: The network name on my screen and the voicemail greeting both still say Vodafone, is this is same on actual Voxi?

Vodafone.co.uk won't let me in anymore as expected but the Vodafone app works and correctly states I have unlimited Data , text and voice minutes that expire in 29 days though says I am on Pay as you go 1.

I tried an international number as a test and the recording said to top up at Voxi.co.uk so I must be with Voxi surely?

Thanks
I get the bugs message but if I go through a new browser ala Firefox it seems to work after a few tries.

I did read even normal voxii users have issues so maybe there's an all round issue.

Your phone will remain connected to and show Vodafone visibly.

The Vodafone app stopped working for me, but if you can still use the Very Me stuff do so! 😅

It should work after 24 hours, mine did eventually after a few tries.
Thanks Carl Yeah ill keep giving it a try for the next hour, otherwise i'll try it again tomorrow night. (y)

Up and running on Voxi.

Can't login though. The "bugs" message.
You'll probably find that you can currently log into My Vodafone using the username and password you chose for Voxi.

For me, it was almost a week later that I finally received a text saying I was now on Voxi. At that point I could then successfully log into Voxi, and could no longer log into My Vodafone.

Seems I can't login to either Voxi or My Vodafone. With any of the user details I signed up with. I guess i'll wait. I don't really need this one for more than a month anyway but since I've paid it would be nice to take advantage of any voxi drops that come along. Oh well.

After all this time my esim is still active and useable despite not paying for a few months.
Looks like the SIM still thinks it's on VOXI unlimited and Vodafone thinks it's on PAYG.

Unfortunately my Flip4 is having to be looked at by Samsung as I'm having issues with it losing network and I guess they might have to reset the network and it might lose the esim!

had this too. paid £10 on voxi, data seems to work although i have no idea if it really is on voxi. But the topup I did was 100% on voxi not vodafone. But can't log into VF. Today I installed the vodafone app to use rewards and it said I was on the PAYG one vodafone tariff and 0 credit. Oh and about it still working, you should get 6 months until you need to top up and you should get a text before that time is up telling you to top up soon or lose it.

Did exactly this yesterday, it said I had 3 days of unlimited data left, jus checked again and now it says 2 days left.

Have they cottoned on, are my days of free data numbered?!

I only ever really used it to play speedtest.net, so it's not a big deal. Although it did come in handy when Three had some issues a few weeks back!

£13 a month seems a bit steep for what they're offering though. Was hoping for one under £10. I dont need a lot of data or voice/texts. It's literally just for when three doesn't work.

Get this. Tesco sold me an expired vodafone sim. Me being a smarty didn't get a receipt.
take it back to the stand and walk out with a new one.... ;)

Some good news. Was out in town and for some reason there was no signal on three at the post office. Needed to pull up a QR code from Amazon (I knew I should have screenshotted it first) and thought oh no what do ? there's no free WiFi either. Then I remembered I still had the voxi/voda esim so I turned it on, got my QR code and went about my business.

Got home, got a text from Voxi : "We've activated your SIM" . I can now successfully log in on the website! and it says I have 30GB of 30GB which is interesting considering i've used it a bit and did some speedtests last week.

Even managed to claim a £5 amazon voucher via voxi drop, so yeah pretty happy now.
