Wannadont 56k - Is it any good?

Free speech is fine, yet so called amusing names are not funny - just sad.

Depends on what sort of person you are. Either you find it funny or not. But you find it offensive. Which means you are affilated with wanadoo in some way (that could be work, business or maybe just like them for some reason, I have no idea)

And yet again with the insults.

Do I call you what I think you are? No.

I never said you worked for them, I said you acted like it, which you do.

I asked when you used it because I think you are being untruthful in your defense of wanadoo all the time.

You always have current expirence of someones problems, and have given out bad advice rather than blame it on ISPs, and for wanadoo your actually fanatic (telling someone to format their computer ring any bells?).

I use and used Wanadoo when lived in bedsit and couldnt get cable - and also when away and at another location I have. But that is none of your business - havent seen you ask anyone else that question so dont me just because of your narrow mind.

I have no means of forcing you to say that. You could ignore me, refuse to answer, or even better put me on the ignore list.

Your last post above is a prime example. No one accused wanadoo of being tight with those hours, but you defend them anyway.

My suggestion to you, either keep your temper in check, and dont be so damn rude.

Ignore people whom annoy you.

Dont visit the forums.

If you persist in being rude, I will report your posts to the moderators.

1) BT have apparently cut the cost of their ADSL in order to stop the exodus of users, and introduced the 15/30gb caps.

2) I found Freeserve dial up to be pretty reliable, but I was on PAYG and that was some time ago as I've had bb for a couple of years since.

3) Norfett -
Stop taking criticisms and throwaway comments about Wanadoo so personally. My impression is that you either work for them or have some kind of manic need to defend them, whether or not it is actually necessary - Old Dude had already stated that 1 customer out of thousands complaining of being kicked of FS's service indicated a fairly relaxed view on limits and only posted the link as he was asked to - there was no need to get defensive about it.

Fair enough - ignore it. It's far more sad to get so upset and defensive about something so trivial - grow up. Aside from which, that sentence implies that you view free speech as fine as long as that free speech is only used to say things that you don't find acceptable - perhaps not what you meant? I hope not, anyway.

The comments regarding Wanadoo on this thread are pretty much entirely positive, yet you still managed to be defensive and rather petty when there was absolutely no need.

Aside from which, Wannadon't is probably marginally better than Freezeserve, which was a common name for their old moniker.

Why anyone should join an 'anytime' tariff and then expect to use it, unrestricted for 24 hours a day is quite beyond my comprehension, notwithstanding that there are people out there who want to hog the airwaves, so to speak.
I often go online for upto 4 to 5 hours a day but in any one session have never managed to stay online for a whole 2 hours as usually, I'm fed up or tired of looking at a computer screen or have got an aching bum long before I'm cut off!!

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I`ve just signed up with them today. Went smooth as silk except for the usual `provided by` minor nuisance. :( Soon sorted that though. :) My advice is to edit the .ins script before you run it rather than doing what they tell you to. :D

Norfett: You were right about the wanndont topic. It was just a simple throwaway remark and as it quickly turned out it backfired on me in spectacular fashion when the replies came back positive. Anyway, I didn`t see it doing any harm as any company who uses such a name is just asking for people to play with it. And they themselves abuse it in their relentless TV ads.
