Well annoyed with NTL

So i signed up for broadband in my Uni house.
First annoyance is that you have to take out the phone and the TV package.

Everything was going smoothly, installation was going to be sometime this week... until i get a letter from NTL this morning saying i have to pay £100 deposit...i was like ARGHHHHHHH

gave them a call and said look is this deposit thing cos i am a student. The lady was oh no not at all...... sure i say..... so now it 2 months bill in advanced and £100 deposit..... its cheaper making your own broadband ISP....

no a happy customer.
I can't even turn round and say i will take my money else where cos they are the only company in leeds that do cable internet..

Stop moaning.... At least you can get broadband, most of us are still stuck with 56k or ISDN  people that complaine about there service of broadband need a slap <img border="0" alt="[Laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laugh.gif" />

I assume the deposit is to cover any telephone costs? Will they really undo the installation if they don't get the deposit? I would be surprised. Will they not take a Direct Debit mandate in lieu?
Why not suggest weekly telephone bills for a while and a lower deposit.

Tends to be a high risk for companies.

We've all been there... every nthell user has had trouble with them at some point or another.

So, what to do?

Complaining barely ever works, I've tried before. But if you really want to give it a go, try
OFTEL. I know they're not meant to regulate broadband, but they can still pass on your complaints.

If you're that angry about it though, I suggest you visit nthell.co.uk and vent that agression of yours. Just don't kill anyone!
