Hey folks,
Formatted a laptop..putting XP Home on (as per original) but it fails the Widows Validation...and the serial/code is coming from the sticker on the bottom of the laptop!!
Any ideas..short of buying what it wants?
Thanks :crap:
Gates strikes again.. *waves fist*
On mine it was a 8 I had been putting it as a B and everyone read it as a B but when I tried 8 it was accepted.. It is now typed neatly in larger printThx guys..Kits, I checked so many times..Im surprised i haven't memorized the number lol.
I'll work on it another night..time isn't pressing for it atm.
It does send you to a link on MS..with £64 written plain and punch..lol
altho l will note that if the disks you used with your laptop are not the ones that originally came with your laptop then the problem could lay there... some hardware are coded to certain versions of windows... an example would be the fact that l can install fine on my sisters laptop with any code except the one printed on the laptop however if l use her restore disks and the code on her laptop it works fine... basically put some XP keys when concerning laptops are coded to the make of laptop unless you buy a standalone copy of XP (pretty sure previous OS's were never this bitchy)
