What happened today then?

Today at 1800 on the dot NDO broadband went down, even their web site only showed the BT Wholesale page!

Trouble is their support pages says that they have been without fault for more than 700 days!

Anyone know what caused this 2 hour outage?

bt maintence most probably.

the ndo website is hosted by ndo and wouldnt ever show a bt website, that is bt redirecting all your adsl traffic to their lovely temporary holding page that they show when your exchange loses its connection to the main bt core network

They don't redirect me when I am using Dial Up though, do they? The NDO site was down with the BT Wholesale page showing when I tried to contact ndo.com (and I DO know what a cache is).

ALL other pages such as Google, BBC News etc. worked. Back to NDO and up came the BT Wholesale page again!

NDO dial up connections don't go through the same network as NDO ADSL connections. It's an entirely different network infrastructure.

Hi

The NDO website was not effected by the problem, this is hosted on servers on the NDO/Namesco network (not by BT which is the only wasy a BT page could appear). The ADSL outage was caused by a BT equipment failure which took offline some of our users on a regional basis.

The bt wholesale page will appear when:

1. you are connected using an bt adsl test account
2. when there is an outage on bt's network

number 2 has been confirmed by NDO, and yes using dialup you will not get that page as stated it uses a totally different infrastructure.
