What have Openreach been up to?

Hi,

I noticed our FTTC capable Openreach cabinet received an extension pod a couple of weeks ago as per the attached photo. Can anyone in the know advise whether this is likely to be G.FAST or simply a capacity increase?

Looks like a port extension to me (capacity increase). G.fast pods normally have several vents to help with thermal control.
 
That's a shame but makes sense. They've made a right mess of the pavement at any rate :)
