What to go for?

Hey.

Currently tied into BT total broadband unlimited package for another 10months or so. BT only allow 100GB monthly usage and seem to be very strict about it. I simply need to use more than this.

I use hardly any usage in peak times, only a few gbs each month, but overnight i download alot and need 200GB+ usage.

I have a second phone line (ADSL) which i am thinking of getting a second broadband connection to.

I would need:
8 MBPS ADSL
10-20GB Peak time usage
200GB+ Non-peak usage

Plusnet Pro package seems to be quite good, but i don't know if they are any good as a provider or not, so hopefully a couple of replies to this thread will really help :D

thanks.

other users can correct me if lm wrong, but l believe BT own PlusNet...

as for an ISP ld recommend, if you have BT 21CN upgraded for ADSL on your exchange or C&W have LLU'd your exchange you should be able to go with Aquiss, lm with them at the moment and they offer what l need, and should be able to accomodate your usage on the Premium packages (l am on Premium Option 1) and so far lm pretty happy with them as they dont throttle my connection and off a pretty good speed and dont persae have any limits (from what lm told their limit is based on contention, which pretty much means you share your connection based upon so many users sharing one pipe), l recommend them especially since they are on the top 10 ISPs here.

they also accept paypal which is pretty cool method of payment, tho l havent seen how to set up others l was told that there are other methods of payment so l suggest you ask if your interested in their services.

don't think i have LLU set up on the local exchance, just adsl and adsl max.

Ill check the aquiss out, cheers (y)

Hey.

Used the checker on aquiss, and it appears that my exchange can use the home, gaming and business packages, but not the premium.

However, they seem to allow 'free overnight usage' on all there packages. As i have mentioned nearly all of my usage will be done overnight, so does this mean the overnight usage is unlimited, or not?

l would pop over to their forum and ask in the pre-sales section, lve found their staff very helpful, and their support ticketing system seems to be second to none, generally have replied within hours and sometimes as late as 8pm (tho most questions lve asked are either silly ones, or found to be problems at my end [l shoulda guessed that my cordless phone was the culprit :p])

That really is what i call service, you right.

Email sent at 00:52AM, recieved a reply 01:17AM :D

They say the majority of there users are business users, so the server load overnight is extremely low, so it is completely unlimited with no FUP

Looking good!

be sure to review after you are with them for a few, they definitely deserve more glowing ones ^_^

tho on another note this is one of the few ISPs that reward users for recommending ppl to them, tho l would love to give you my referring ID its prolly against the rules (plus l dont want to seem like lm doing it for money off my bill lol)

Thats fine.

Feel free to PM me your ID, and if/when i sign up to the package ill happily put your ID there.

cool ;) should have a PM waiting, and a few other interesting titbits of info as well.
