It is a bit expensive yes but if no broadband for you then its the only alternative for most gamers, its a serious step however up on 56k modems, 70 pings are way better than 200 pings :/

also dont forget with isdn.. u only pay that one payment with for example home high way some options are about 34 pound and this includes 2 line rentals as u get 2 lines with isdn.. and u get different options to choose. but its not that bad tbh its not adsl or cable but i can ping as good as some cable peeps i've played with ingame pings of 39 during a full jolt game on TFC although my ping usualy stays about 60 with 16 people during a clan war with freeserve isp if that helps.. and he's right i used to have ping of 240 with my modem its an instant improvment in ur gameplay

yeah I'm on Tiscali and its AWFUL - lagging out when ppl are near etc

... I've heard from a source that www.surfanytime.co.uk are quite good- offering 4 hour disconnections, with 150 pings, anyone else heard of this service?

I'm thinking of switching now, life minus a good multiplayer game sucks arse

EMU!!

It is I, Young-Gun Mase!!

That tip about graphics card worked big time, instead of 21 fps average i get between 28 and 40 with it going higher at times to 50...damn maybe this Good ol' Riva TNT aint past it after all!

Jolt anytime suck big time for gaming...just making this post partly to do with this thread :)

Emu, from reviews on this website, Vispa seem to be good for multiplayer. They are on my shortlist for next ISP...and maybe clara.net on one of these posts recommendation

Yea ... I tried Jolt Anyping ... and for a GISP dial-up it just wasn't up to it. I'm now back with AOL (AOL 6) and pinging great

A note about Clara Net: Their £14.99 Freetime Anytime package has a maximum of 120hours use a month. If you go over this you will be asked to move on to their Freetime Anytime Business package costing £24.99 a month

If you do try AOL make sure of these two things.

1) BT Line
2) AOL6

AOL7 is not good for gaming :(

its true, however most isp's are similar apart from AOL who dont kick heavy users

:)

Jolt Anyping has a package for £25 which offers 16 hrs connection per day, if you are REALLY heavy, but the service is poor at the mo :(
