Which APN is better, 3internet or three.co.uk?

For the last week I have been using three.co.uk as speeds appeared to be a bit better. This morning three.co.uk took a huge nosedive. 3internet is still ok. Has annyone else found the same?

Just gave them a try on my tablet eccles and 3internet is faster today, normally both the same for me but three.co.uk seems under the weather today.

Tried again and as you said they are both the same again.
Must just be a blip Thursday. :giggle:

Done some tweaking maybe?

Speedtest from ookla. Not bad for 4g.

Ahhhh i wish..
I'm at a holiday park in Scarborough at the moment, brought my shiny new MiFi with me but it only works on 3G due to how many people using it. I ❤️ 1Mbps (better than the parks pay WiFi!)

I usually find Three.co.uk more reliable albeit little speed difference but last night/this morning it was slower. All back up to speed now.

Ordered one, too, @JitteryPinger :)

BTW, did you get it via topcashback?
I've been on Smarty since my 2 year 3 contract ended and its been fine, why did you guys enter another contract if I may ask?

To get cashback and save a little pennies, or for the truly unlimited data?

I may be joining you if I reach 1TB before the end of the month right enough, wonder if I can scrape through or not, still not sure.

My sims at the moment are:
In my redmi note 9: Three contract 30GB for £7.50 (TCB) and Sky 3GB for £0 (😁👌).
i got the sky deal as a family member wanted to upgrade and used sky mobile. If you order from them on sim free they still send you a sim with ultd calls and texts and 100MB of data but because they had been with sky for 20 years they said that they would boost it to 3GB a month. In my iPhone 8 (work device, gotta love home run buisnesses) I have my trusty pay and go 3 sim. Was thinking about Asda mobile but tried to join them and they service was god awful as it always was.

Hi I will be travelling to my inlaws tomorrow 14th Aug staying 6 days in the town of Haslingden which is in Rossendale, Lancashire post code BB4 5DQ.

I will be taking my Huawei E5783B using Three network.

What is the best configuration using huaCltr to get the best possible speeds.

Previously when I have been there before covid Three network speeds where very bad they just said this its normal cause of the limitations where the mast is placed.

Only used Vectone sim once in smartphone in the area as it had a good deal years ago but i think they still use 3G in this day and age which they use EE network 3G was poor in the area from EE.

I will check cellmapper any advice.

For redundancy and for the price, after cashback this comes down to ~£10, beats everything else. Both me and the wife fully work from home and my job is highly technical and Internet dependent so I need to avoid downtime as much as possible. Now I have 2 fully working 5G uplinks from different physical masts.. sorted. :)

BTW, with topcashback, if you have the experience, my Three transaction is still not showing up in any way altough we're nearing a week since my order. Does it usually take this long or you reckon it hasn't registered?

I might have to cancel while in the 14 days period and try again...

Ah makes sense Lucian, when I used TCB for my 3 contract, it tracked in a day got my payment 3 months later.

Maybe timings are different now though, not sure.

It took 7 weeks for my mobile to appear.

Just had a wee lookie at my TCB history, I got £70 for my last 3 contract, not too shabby.

Don't think it would persuade me to sign up to another contract again though.

Unless I reach 1TB before the end of the month and Smarty stops my data maybe.:giggle:

Leave it on auto, nothing really changes with Three when in different areas, they use same configs across the country.
There area is poorly served by all networks my inlwas tell me. the best netowrk in the area cant say for sure as i have not used EE in there area.

The closest Three netowrk mast is Band 3 only dose not serve Bb4 5dq which you might think it should because its close by maybe cause of limitation in the area it cant serve the area so the next nearest Three network mast serves there area which is Band 1,3,20 no Band 32 added as I have checked cell mapper.

I will first check the speeds on auto then lock on to the bands to see if speeds improve will have to play around and see. Your right most Three network set up is mostly the same around UK.

And in those 7 weeks there was no mention of it whatsoever in the TCB UI?

I mean, you'd think they'd register somewhere your attempt/clicks.
It registered in the UI at 3 weeks as £0 for H3G and then once it had been confirmed £0 changed to £60. Week 5 I think that was. Finally got my casback week 7. If it doesn’t register by the end of this week, raise it with them as it going untracked
