Which emits less radiation: 5G LTE MIFI Sim router or a standard Broadband router?

Connected to my device via Wi-fi
Due to my location can't get fibre Broadband, I'm thinking about switching my Home Broadband (11 MB) to a 5G portable sim router (up to 300 MB) but First wanted to check whether there would be a big difference in radiation Exposure from the device compared to a standard Broadband router?
Both routers would be constantly plugged in to a power source and 2 Metres away from me But I would be using it for 12 hours a day
  • I appreciate nothing has been proven regarding 5G but haven't had chemotherapy in the past puts me at higher press of developing something to minimise losing wi-Fi Internet access
-Also, would it be safer to use a 4G router instead? As it still would be a 5G capable Sim card but would only be able to provide 4G speeds

Thank you

It's a contentious subject and you've done well to ask.

The short story is that the radio waves emitted by your device (wifi, 4g or 5g) are extremely low power, non-ionising and thus safe.

Your smartphone - while in use - emits an order of magnitude more radiation in comparison, but that is also deemed very safe.

All that pales in comparison to the daily dose of ionising radiation we receive from our planet and the cosmos, which is typically similar to a small dental x-ray. Every few days or so we've absorbed the same amount of environmental x-ray (ionising, aka bad stuff) as we'd typically receive during a chest x-ray.

This doesn't even take into consideration other types of environmental radiation (hope you don't live in Cornwall where the soil and rocks emit crazy amount of radon!).

You have nothing to worry about regarding wifi, 4g or 5g.

You should talk to a radiologist technician/doctor if require more info.

@pw23 consider getting an outdoor 5g router, this could give you better signal stability and you should also be able to place it outside the house or in the loft.
This wouldn't be any more or less safe, but perhaps it could give you extra piece of mind
