Which is the most cost effective Broadband Package?

I would like to use a Broadband service and I dont mind paying for it. The problem is that suppliers appear to make is as difficult as possible to make a fair comparison and I resent being cheated.
Currently I have a BT Together Option 3 package which gives me BT Anytime for my web and e-mails but would like to use Broadband.
I want to use the web for surfing looking for information on many subjects and using forums to do that. I also send a lot of e-mails as I am deaf and find using the telephone a problem.
My wife uses the telephone a lot to keep in contact with our children so could anyone please tell me what they would recommend covering the following:
1. A rather high use of local telephone.
2. Two or three hour’s use of a computer on line surfing the web and sending E-Mails.

I use Freedom2surf, excellent service aand support, not the cheapest but one of the best, Do not go near BT, overpriced, 12 month contract, download limits and lousey support.

Dump the BT email addy you have, register a .co.uk domain name with email support (easyspace.com is good) and you can keep your email addy for life and use any number of ISP's for a couple of pounds a year.

I use onetel for telephone on BT line, free calls a weekend and low cost in the week.

I've never had a problem with Pipex in around two years with no downtime whatsoever in that period. I pay £23.44 per month for a truly unlimited 512K service.
This service includes free activation, modem and filters with twelve mail address boxes and 50M of webspace. It uses the IPStream delivery method with UK based support and demands a one month contract.
Have a look at their "capped" deals, which incidentally, as far as I know, are not yet capped!

Whatever you choose to do, avoid the "big players" such as tiscali, BT et al and do your homework carefully! You could end up being tied into a twelve month contract with a horrendous service and or expensive cap overpayments.
Remember, cheaper is rarely better where broadband is concerned!
