Which ISP is suitable for a heavy downloader?

Bt decides what your line will support the ISP you choose as very little(No!)say in it,I was going to move to the 20:1 2mb sevice from Metronet(to try and fix speed variances I sometimes get)but they actually warned me that Bt may only allow a 1mb connection if I migrated to them, and there would be nothing Metronet could do about it if they did just beware that if you move from your 2mb service you have now you are not guaranteed to get a 2mb service when you do,by the way the metronet service I was going to move to is approx £27 with a 150gb inclusive allowance,I dont know how much you need/mean by unlimited but for a 20:1 service that seems very good value from one of the top rated providers:-see adsl guide they're not too far behind Zen and are a lot cheaper

Wow, that was pretty fast and quick from BT as my core isp will be ready on Monday, I can't wait. I never expect it to be activated on Monday and here is my email from core isp.

I am now ACTIVATED with core isp today.

My plusnet broadband is disconnected me as I cannot access the internet at all, so I ring up plusnet to ask them what happen to my broadband? They checked it for me and told me that my broadband is de-activated from BT and advise me to contact core isp as I was migration outbound to them. So, I re-config my Router as new username and password for to try to get my core isp broadband to connected me, wow, bingo.......it ACTIVATED already and I check my speed test today with ndo speedtest:
http://www.speedtest.ndo.com/results.php?kbps=2073.6&downloadtime=11.938&KB=3000&recorded=1

I am so shock of getting 2073.6kbps from core isp as plusnet never get that far as I normal get around 1842kbps or less.

I had checked downloading on p2p using bit-torrent as I am very pleased with download rates of 248kbps as plusnet is always under 30kbps.

I am very happy and I never expected that BT are to activated my line on Monday but it all done today as maybe BT is working over the weekend.

I check my core-isp as member status of my ADSL as it say "Enabled and Activated as of 07-01-06.

Hope my core isp kept it up. :-)

Goodbye suck plusnet !!!

My speed with core isp still fast today :
http://www.speedtest.ndo.com/results.php?kbps=1986.1&downloadtime=9.39&KB=2206.625&recorded=1

I had no problem so fars with p2p and gaming.

Already done 7gbs last night of 2 movies downloading.

p2p downloads rates at vary between 225 and 248 kbps

Still even better than rubbish plusnet

I know I only with core isp for less than a day - I had to wait until at least up a month before I know myself if the speed and isp are quite good.

You dont need to have 2+ enabled in the exchange to get 8 meg normal ADSL will go upto 8 meg depending on your line.

Whoops, my bad. Meant you have to be on an LLU exchange, because BT wont go above 2MB.

I take these speeds are taken from the day time, the real test comes at peak hours during the evenings. Then you know what the isp is realy like.
