Whisper.. who?

Anyone know which telecoms company is behind Whisper Broadband? It says something about "financially supported by the largest independent telecom in Europe" on the website (www.whisperbroadband.co.uk)

Slightly annoyed that my town was "considered ideal" for their service yet there was no advertising whatsoever! nobody here has even heard of them. Hardly surprising they "appear not to have the support of the community" as they put it and have postponed rollout indefinitely.

Just done an IP look up and it the site seems to be maintained by Easy Net for a company called Integral Web Ltd.

Not sure if that helps.

Whisper ...town?

Hi,

What town are you in? I am in Bourton and my brother lives in Stow and WHisper has been great. They had some problems intially with their servers but now the service is great.

You should contact them, they will come to any village but if they don't get community support, they have a line up of villages that want their service.

Call them on 020 7000 and speak to Haider Hilaly.

Hmm, Zoom, are you an interested party? I see you only registered today and that one of your two posts says "I am in Bourton and my brother lives in Stow and WHisper has been great." and the other says "I am also interested in Whisper Broadband. I have heard they are very open to working with the community ". On implies you are already with them the other that you have heard they are good.
This is looking very familiar. I hope I'm wrong.

Hi sarsat,

I am in Bourton and I am with them.

I am moving to Ettington at the end of January. My son will stay in my house in Bourton.

Someone certainly does not like capitalists!

BT will be upgrading the exhange in Ettington so we won't need Whisper.

I'm in Fairford.. apparently http://www.cotswoldcommunitynetworks.co.uk will be up and running here at the end of next month, so hopefully it'll be as good as it sounds on paper. 1Mbit in both directions for the same price as what Whisper would have been, and 10Mbps of non-satellite based backhaul.. not bad for a community project is it?
