Why 5G Sucks (Video)

Sponsored Links

Just sharing a Mrwhosetheboss video about his 5G thoughts with you for your perusal folks.

The video is just under 10 minutes, so grab a cuppa and a couple of biccies.

Just thought it would be interesting to hear someone elses opinion of the current state of 5G.

Please feel free to say if you agree with what he's saying or not.

I think when 'proper' stand alone 5G arrives, we'll get on much better with it.

That's all for now folks.:giggle:

Just watched this video

● Mrwhosetheboss is on Vodafone, the phase 8 pole he filmed was not on Vodafone which explains why he struggled to send a Whatsapp message.

● Mmwave is not deployed in the UK yet, highest band is currently N78

● The Huawei ban did slow the rollout and is very costly to MNOs

●Even though 5G can struggle to cover a whole building due to its high frequency, you should still get more than "2mbps" using B28 CA at most times and B28 SA is being rolled out.

●In a way you could say that they "overpromised" the capabilities of 5G when you come into a congested area but in fairly average residential areas, towns and most citys, I've never failed to get less than 100mbps download.

This guy's testing 5G from Vodafone. All his phones show vodafone in the past videos, and this would also tie into him paying "£30 a month for a max speed plan". I'm going to be a Karen and pull him up on this. Vodafones 5G also seems very similar to the results hes getting. Had full Lebara 5G the other day and pulled about 6 meg.
A bit late, but I think he's been using it for the past 5 years at least?

Apparently he spends £1212 in a month on subscriptions which is wild:
(at around 21:10)

I haven't read most of the comments here but I believe he is in an O2 host area, think he's somewhere in Nottingham from memory?

Cornerstone divide probably causes issues

That's what happens when you have tens of millions of subscribers, he has an unlimited budget unfortunately

These people aren't always in touch with reality, most people aren't going to spend £1200 on subscriptions (unless rent is counted as a subscription now 😭) and spending £10000 or whatever on fancy phones

I like his content, but I have seen quite a bit of criticism of him in the past and it is justified

My view is. If you're going to set about making a wild claim such as '5G Sucks' without properly testing the technology and having the stats to prove it, then just don't. He has the money and the capacity to test all 4 networks but only sticks to one and shames the others whilst he's at it.

Very dense.
