Why can some 4G areas get mobile broadband on Three but others cannot?

Sorry if this is the wrong thread. Lately I've been curious on Three coverage so I've been poking around their website and noticed that my current address is not applicable for Three Mobile Broadband but my old house in a small village just down the road is. I assume it could be backhaul related? but I'm curious if anyone knows onto why. EE and Vodafone both allow their mobile broadband in both places so I'm a little confused

Hi Netifyy, Three tend to make their home / mobile broadband packages unavailable to order online in areas that may be suffering from congestion.

Sometimes if 5G isn't available you can only order 4G packages.

I have 5G available in my town but it's very slow due to the backhaul, but online Three will only let me order a 4G router package.

It used to not let me order any broadband packages at all and simply said that home / mobile broadband is unavailable in my area, try again soon.

I've no idea on the figures and how they decide what's available or not though. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense actually because Three slows down to a crawl here in peak times, yet when we still lived in that village there was barely any slow down even during peak time.

Yeah it sounds like that right enough then Netifyy, very frustrating. :(

interesting.. plugging in my address and also addresses closer to my local mast states no home broadband, however I've been running my house on Smarty 5G for 9 months now.
