Why is my iphone getting quicker speeds than my router?

Why would my iphone8 be getting quicker speeds than a wireless connection to my Huawei B535?

Both are using EE sims

iphone is getting around 100mb down/30mb up
router is getting approx 60 down/30 up
Using speedtest

Is the iphone doing some form of carrier aggregation that the router cant?

Or is this difference to be expected?

I've set the router to use only bands 3 and 20 via HuaCtrl

If EE you will want to add band 7 if supported.

Your iPhone could be using band 3 and 7 if available, providing much better connectivity.

Cellmapper will show you the available bands in your area.

Your iPhone 8 has a Cat 12 LTE chipset where as the Rout only had Cat 7....

The iPhone is capable of bonding upto 4 carriers whereas the router can only bond 2, the iPhone is also capable of higher modulation usage than the Router (256QAM vs. 64QAM)
