Why you should switch to Firefox

I use Firefox, but I still periodically find sites which need IE (though not my Internet Banking sites)

One of the key reasons for switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox, apart from screen rendering is soooo much quicker, are the extensions. For example, Adblock enables us to filter out adverts from the pages we visit. Say goodbye! to those annoying flashing banners forever, and dump IE ASAP.

Following on from Captain, my main reason was a simple little feature called 'Tabbed Browsing' and I'm amazed that MS completely ignored this in their SP2 update for IE - dumb move Microsoft.

It's hard to express how much easier navigating the Internet becomes when you have more control over the information display. I can launch a website and then launch tabs (browser sub-windows) for different areas inside that same window with the click of my mouse.

I'm also keen on the Firefox extention called Mouse Gestures. First used this when trying out Opera a few years ago and it's good to have it back.

For example, to navigate to the previous page click and hold the right mouse button, drag left a little and release - and hey presto you're back to the previous page. Drag right and you'll navigate forward. You can navigate between tabs, in fact there are a whole plethora of gestures for you to explore.
