You have to ask yourself what do you mainly use WiFi for?
Mainly a means of connecting to the internet? If so, what's your internet speed? If that is slower than your current WiFi speed then speeding up your WiFi won't make anything 'faster' as the slowest link is still the internet connection.
If you do a lot of LAN-based transfers etc then perhaps getting faster WiFi would improve your experience.
I'm sort of holding out for the WiFi 6E stuff before buying another, partly because I can't see much point in vanilla 6 (802.11ax) until more of my network devices have support for that standard (i.e. no rush).
If you have a high speed FTTP line then Wi-Fi 6 is a must if you want the highest Wi-Fi speeds possible. I have a Wi-Fi 6 router (Netgear RAX200) and on my Wi-Fi 6 clients I’m easily hitting 800 Mbps on my 1 Gig FTTP line. Of course folks could wait for Wi-Fi 6E but then why not skip 6E and wait for Wi-Fi 7/8/9 etc
We're starting to see more Wi-Fi 6 capable devices hit the market, so naturally, the big question is: should you upgrade? Today we are taking a look...
