Yeah, the huawei should be a dhcp client in this case.

As I’m sure you’re aware there is a distinction between DHCP Server and DHCP Client functionality. You want the latter for the access point, however it may not be the address your expecting - so check what’s been handed out from the main router (the DHCP server).

If DHCP is not obtaining an address from the main router, then you may need to set a suitable static IP address /subnet/gateway etc on the access point that does not collide with any addresses issued by the main router - but crucially is still on the same subnet.

I have turned off dhcp on the ax3 access point problem was the wifi password wasn't the same between the two now I can connect my devices without a problem.

Looks complicated at first but its simple complicated part of setting up access point I say its doing the wiring.

The problems usually aren’t apparent immediately, but down the track when you have (potentially) duplicate addresses being handed out by two boxes which have no clues there is a second DHCP server. Best to avoid this mess if you can.
