I am having ADSL installed and am also looking to purchase a laptop. I have a PC at home and at first looked to network the PC and laptop and share the ADSL Connection.
I am now thinking that the cabling job is going to be a nightmare and quite fancy the idea of adding WiFi (especially to the laptop).
I've done a bit of research and reckon the following:
I can create a wireless LAN using WiFi Access point and WiFi cards in my machines. Instead of an WiFi access point. I could purchase a WiFi ADSL route (such as the netgear FM114P) that would connect to my ADSL socket, act as a firewall and allow suitably equiped PCs and laptops to run on a LAN and all access the ADSL connection.
IS this correct? Am I looking at this in the right way? The netgear products are my basic solution, does anyone know how well they perform and what other products out there will do the same?
Any help and advice would be great
