windows built in firewall

I have started using azureus because of encryption, i am using nod32 antivirus, and was using mcafee firewall, azureus said it had problems with mcafee so i uninstalled it, i am using windows built in firewall now, but in order to get good speeds when d/l from p2p i have to disable the windows firewall, is this safe for a short period of time untill my d/l completes, its ok for uploading with it on.....thanks

Curious, I wasn't aware that the Windows Firewall would be responsible for limiting P2P downloads. That issue is more likely to crop up as a result of the 10 connections limit imposed with WinXP's second service pack (SP2).

Provided you still have a router firewall and NOD32’s IMON (Internet Monitor) running then it should be “semi-safe”, although the Windows Firewall isn’t exactly stellar anyway. Technically anything that results in a layer of your security having to be switched off is a bad thing.
