Looking for ISP for friend,
She wants broadband, on a laptop and the ability to connect from anywhere in the house and the summer house :shrug:
I was looking at getting a wireless netgear bundle with laptop card (802.11b i guess) and then an ISP.
Noticed Vispa do a "Wireless Starter Pack" with ;
512k Maximum Downstream
256k Maximum Upstream
50:1 Contention
Free 802.11b Wireless Router, filters and software Included
Static IP (Multiple IP options)
Backup 0845 Service
----
it also mentions the BT connection costs included, I guess this is the £58 figure most quote.
Cost is £25pm, so £300 a year.
So, effectively £100 for a netgear bundle, the £58 connection charge
Gives £142 difference which equates to £12pm for the actual internet access.
Seems very good option.
Anyone using this?
Simple to setup?
Is the router/card stuff re-useable should whe go elsewhere after the 12 months?
Not much info in this area on the vispa site :crap:
