X-Box 360 enquiry

Howdy Chaps/Chapesses,

I'm considering purchasing a X-Box 360...either now or next month. Anyway, my enquiry would be if anyone knows of a place that guarentees the "Xbox 360 Elite Falcon 175w" version?

As far as i know.. all the latest xbox360's have the smaller energy footprint.
I have a premium that is 175wl

If you try and purchase the unit from an actual shop you can ask the shop assistant if you can look at the label on the box - it should say if it is a Falcon or not.

Have a look here http://loot-ninja.com/2007/12/18/how-to-spot-a-xbox-360-with-a-falcon-chip-and-why-you-should/ to see what you are looking for.

A quick Google around also appears to show that Shopto.net allow you to buy a specific Falcon chipset model from them here http://www.shopto.net/page.php?page=dettagli&codart=XB2ELITE.

Hope the above helps.

Was planning on purchasing from play.com, guess I can easily just send them an enquiry.

Cheers for the info!

I bought a GTA4 360 premium pack a few months ago from Play. I read the comments before hand and one guy asked Play if they were selling the new falcon model, they told him all the GTA4 360 packs would be the new Falcon model. I decided to buy one, and sure enough it is the new model.

They advertise the consoles as having HDMI, only the new Falcon models have this. So if they still sell the older models, then that is a breach of advertising I would have thought, therefore one should be able to get a refund.

But tbh, the new Falcon has been out quite a while now, any old units should have gone by now from all big retailers.

My launch console finally died a few months back. So I bought an arcade one and kept my old HDD etc etc

I did not realise but it was the Falcon 175w version, which I was pleased about :D

Is it possible to use my Xbox 360 mic for voice recognition on my computer?
I have a wireless receiver, a wireless black Xbox 360 controller, and the "new" headset that plugs in like regular headphones, instead of that giant puck type end. Is it possible to combine these all to use for voice recognition on my Vista?
