Yep Go for an Xbox I've had mine a few months now and am extremely happy with it. like Dac said the Graphics are loads better. It may cost a bit more but comes with the built in hard drive and is capable of internet gaming without extra hardware.

Right firstly just look at that brick of an Xbox and sendly the games LOOK good but they dont grab you as like all the nintendo games. Halo is a evolution of Perfect Dark form the N64. there is nothing original on the XBox. The Cube has got Eternal Darkness, and all the Resident Evil games (revamped of the Cube) Not kids games. You cant get better water effects on any other console - look at Wave Race and the New Mario game. These games grab you by the balls and dont let go. Besides the Cube was voted the most advanced console ever produced a few months ago. Xbox is just a cheap PC!

Blah blah blah, lets be honest, whos gonna win the competition, gamecube(with several million to spent on advertising and stuff like that) or mr gates' x-box (several hundred million in advertising) mmmm i wonder

Xbox sold a meager 73,500 units in it first month comparied to Gamecubes 139,000 units. A bit of a waste of money then for Microsoft if they are spending that amout on marketing!

I might add that Microsoft are losing an average of £150 on each console sold at present.

Also some people are so extreamly dense to work this out, PS2 has been out for 2 years, xbox and gamecube have been out a few months, of course it is outselling them. IDIOTS!

now i played a xbox, i really do hate the controller its very uncomfortable. The only good game i have seen is Halo, lots of people hate xbox . Majority of people like Gamecube and PS2

Also i might add that online gaming will not be possible for us not blessed with broadband as microsoft are ***** who are only releasing a broadband adapter.

also, the games are more exspensive, exspect them to get more exspensive, microsoft are gonna make that £150 some how, I should also exspect a high monthly fee for connecting to there network for online gaming

um let me get this straight just becuase the ps2 has been out for 2 years that is why its selling more than cube and x box.i would off thought that being out for 2 years and the arrival off 2 new consoles.sales would plummet not increase.
dumb ass

The PS2 is selling the greatest amount of units virtually everywhere in the world. And it is honestly outdated, and too expensive for what it is. I have a PS2 and only ever play one game on it which is Pro Evolution Soccer.

KDS - Have you ever looked at statistics of game console ownership in the market? The average age of a GameCube owner in Europe is 23. The modal age of a PS2 owner is 14. How many 14-15 years olds do you see going around saying Nintendo is for kids, and Playstation is not - f*cking hundreds of 'em. Perfect Dark on the N64 was rated 18. Eternal Darkness is the scariest game ever made and will sh*t you up no end.

At the moment the Xbox hasnt got enough good points about it to spend £200 + extra for games. As you say yourself you already own a PS2 so you do not need the DVD capability of Xbox. The GameCube being only £130, cheaper games, and being Nintendo would be the best choice. Nintendo and Rare(creators of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark) are some of the best developers in the world.

The line-up of games for the GameCube is looking good also:
-Perfect Dark Zero
-Die Hard Vendetta
-Resident Evil (already out in US)
-Eternal Darkness (already out in US)
-Super Mario Sunshine
-Mario Kart
-F-Zero
-Super Monkey Ball 2
And these above are just future releases, there are already loads of great games out for the GC - Super Smash Bros. Melee, Star Wars:Rogue Leader 2, Luisi's Mansion, Super Monkey Ball, Pikmin, Wave Race:Blue Storm.

There isn't another console with a line-up that is that good.

The all mighty god game "Halo" you are all talking about has now been given a PC release date, when will you ever see a Nintendo game officially released on the PC - never. Nintendo have also released information that they are releasing both dial-up and broadband connectors.

The GameCube controller is the best ever created, the design feels 100% comfortable. The Playstation controller isn't good, but the Xbox controller is awful, the designer should be shot.

The only reason I would buy an Xbox would be to lose Microsoft money selling it to me.

Im gettin an X-box cause Halo rocks, and i'll be able to play all my MAME stuff on it (as well as hook it up to my PC and play any avi/mp3/mpg i want

ps2 had one slow load times nothing much same old
games big ugly box sold and got a cube small sweet and fast load time so much better in the end its all about choice cube for me

I'd go for the X-box. It gives you a PIII 800Mhz processor and a geforce card, also you can run Linux on it and have a PC for less than £150!

I'll post the web site when I find it again...

I own them all and of course a PC =).

When I look at a console I couldn't give a damn about what it looks like, how much it weighs, what it can 'technically' accomplish, price or any of that etc.

All I care about is that if I buy that console then the games are going to be fun for 'ME' to play, not any of you, but 'ME'.

So my opinion of the three is that they're all good, but ultimately the X-Box is better for 'ME' because the games not only look better, they also play better and feel more 'involving' than on the other two systems. I also find them to be more mature and really don't go for the whole 'family' themed GC titles.

I hated MS to start with and their huge controller, but I do like this console now. I have 23 games on my X-Box, 19 for the PS2 and just 5 for the GC. If you've got a PS2 then get an X-Box. GC would be so much better had they released Resident Evil (remake) and Mario Sunshine at the launch.

Of course the GC is good if you’re into the Nintendo style of ‘family friendly’ games, which I am most certainly not =). To be honest I think people should try and get all three, that’s the only way to have more fun than you’ve got spare time =).
