yes folks v21

OK so you signed up with FAST4...ever thought to read the Terms and Conditions? You would surely have noticed therin that the company address was... London Road, Blackwater, Nr Camberley, Surrey, GU17...strangely enough the exact address of the parent company V21.

Well maybe if I'd heard of V21 at that time I might have noticed that addresses were the same. But, actually I have better things to do with my life than search out the address of every comapny that I don't even know exists - a bit like Donald Rumsfelt - it was something that I didn't know I didn't know - but I know better now. It said Fast4 "on the tin"!

"It said Fast4 "on the tin"!

...and just because it says "Typhoo tea" on the side of buses it doesn't mean they sell it on board!

Next time you tick that box that says you've read and agree to the terms and conditions...perhaps you should find time to actually READ them? :)

And maybe fly-by-night companies should learn to put relevant information in their small print - but no! someone might recognise them for what they are. I NEVER SAW THE NAME V21 OR HEARD OF THEM UNTIL 2 YEARS AFTER I HAD SIGNED UP WITH FAST4.

FYI I DO read things unlike some people who seem to see what they want.

I just did a search of my harddisk and sure enough found a copy of the terms when I joined the Fast4 shower.

It mentions Fast 4 Internet, PO Box 4, Chiswick, , London, E14 5RD,
and ISP Serve of 59 London Road, Blackwater, Camberley, Surrey, GU17 0AB

No mention of V21. As I recall, in later terms ISP Serve became ISPServe LTD - I recall looking for ISPServe LTD at companies house as I wasn't sure if I had to name V21 or ISPserve LTD on the court papers and found no record of said limited company existing (I thought there were rules against that  )

There's an explaination of the causes of some of the problems since Biscit's takeover here:- http://www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/showpost.php?p=170141&postcount=22 although I don't think they've got a good excuse for not paying NS.

Sorry urbanite, but let's put all the posturing away and lets look calmly at what is in fact the truth in this matter.....

Your disgruntlement with FAST4 (it seems) is unfounded and stems from the fact that the name FAST4 was at some point annexed by V21...a company you had (it appears) never heard of until the annexation happened...

Let me try to explain...There is a GREEN DRAGON RESTAURANT in Immingham South Humberside...there is also a restaurant of the same name in HULL North Humberside..neither have any business or other connection save in name alone...

Now if I eat at Hull and the meal later makes me ill... do I blame the Immingham restaurant? If King prawns bamboo shoots and water chestnuts cost £12 in Immingham and £13 in Hull do I demand Hull charge me the same as Immingham?
No of course not...so why tar FAST4 of today with the mistakes of a totally unrelated FAST4 of yesterday....OR try to get a cheap connection at the rates you paid to the OLD FAST4...

It seems you cant seem to get over the fact that the FAST4 of today is nothing whatsoever to do with the FAST4 you originally signed upto nor is it tied in with either V21 (or BiscitCSP...whichever floats yer boat) and as they say...'every man is innocent until proven guilty'...
I maintain that the FAST4 of today never sold you off to V21....The FAST4 of today has done you no wrong...(apart from not signing you on to those old terms which belonged to another company) is it really fair to dwell on the misdemeanours made by another company that had the same name? :)

Totally unrelated?

New company I grant you, but the same management as the old V21 is it not.

Is it? You tell me...
AFAIK the Steve Kaye's of this world were nowt but advisors with no direct control. over the new company....maybe that was the deal they struck with Biscit and why they all jumped ship as fast as they did ...who knows? Not I....

Perhaps todays FAST4 is nothing but 'a horse by another name' but still, until this new version of FAST4 has done something wrong we shouldn't be blaming them for faults in a 'past life'. That is grossly unfair....and my point entirely.

Actually, I wasn't disgruntled with the old Fast4 - they gave me the service that I required without any gimmicks at a Set Up cahrge followed by a very reasonable monthly charge. I have signed with the 'new' Fast4 for a dial-up service but I will not be giving them my broadband custom when I finally get free of the V21/Biscit/ezeedsl chains.

You analogy to Green Dragons was totally spurious. If the 'new' Fast4 doesn't want to be associated with the misdemeanours of the parent (as you insist) V21 then perhaps they shouldn't have taken the name.
