ymobile

Having signed up a few months ago to be notified, I just got an email today saying that Ymobile has launched. Their solution to the VOLTE issue seems to be to go data only. They're now offering the following eSIM prepaid plans (it says you need their app to purchase them):
2 GB £2
5 GB £5
10 GB £7
50 GB £10
And 100 GB £15 (although I think at that price you could get unlimited from somewhere else)
The code WHY will get you your first month free, I thought it was safe to post here as it seems like a generic one to me. Although I assume you need to enter card details to sign up.
You have to provide payment details, just tried with a random address in Goole.

Can't wait to see Yahoo Japan sue them though

I just got the £2 2GB plan data only eSim. It runs on the 3 network, making it a good option as a backup. I'm not sure about the routing but the average ping to google.com is about 47 ms.

The FAQ section is full of info. The plan can be frozen anytime, but does the 30 day clock stop ticking?

The eSim can be moved to a different device although one FAQ says to simply delete it from the first device (with wifi turned on) then rescan the original QR on the new device, while the app says it will cost £2 for a new QR code.

Roaming passes can be purchased in-app, europe region including Switzerland Norway etc costs £2 per day for 1 GB per day.

So it seems okay, a lot more transparent than Mozillion for example.

That's interesting. Out of interest is the IP you get a 3 IP (if you check websites like ipinfo.io what does it show for ISP). Also does it show 3 as the provider of the eSIM, or does it show a different company? I don't mean the displayed network name but rather the name of the SIM provider (on iOS this is displayed at the top of the eSIM details screen).
The one odd thing I saw about roaming is they have instructions for manually changing the APN to "basic-data": https://support.ymobile.co.uk/hc/en...049-Setting-Up-APN-for-Roaming-on-Your-Device
They even quite radically suggest resetting your full network settings on iOS to reset to default once you return to the UK (which is rather silly as there's even an option in Mobile Data options just to reset the APN). So I have a feeling roaming might be through someone else like Tele2.
I'd also be interested to know if it gets similar speeds to 3 as well. I might have a go myself soon but I'd likely cancel before the free month is up as I don't need another mobile subscription really.

According to ipinfo.io the ip is 185.222.225….. in London, org is Parateum Europe B.V.

I'm using the eSim on a 5ber card on an Android phone.

Got a Ymobile SIM. first plan free if you use code WHY at checkout.

Performance identical to Three, except the IP says THREEUK instead of H3G?

Sadly I will have to start with a point for some improvement. I signed up to be first to hear last month and got my invite a couple of weeks ago, but can't use your app as its not accessible to screen readers. I use the VoiceOver screen reader on iOS as I am blind. Would it be at all possible to get this looked into so I can use your service,as your prices for small amounts of data seem great (like £2 for 2 GB). Do reach out via direct message or reply here if you need any additional info.

That's a great suggestion and something we're investigating into for the immediate future, we will make sure to provide an update as soon as we have one.

if you want to email us further please send an email to support@ymobile.co.uk

Thank you.
