YouFibre Customers

It apears my Youfibre install date is being put back again as the blockage in the pavement has not been resolved, despite Netomnia's reassurances that it would. Sadly I think I may need to revisit my options.

Very disapointed

Actually getting installed seems to be the only real source of complaints. Once installed people love it.

Sorry you're in that group struggling for an install. A blockage in the drop is a pain.

It is disapointing as the blockage is about 2 to 3 feet from the manhole on the pavement, the other 40 odd meters is clear right up the drive. I may be forced to stay with Virgin as my contract with them ends in July and to leave I need to give 30 days notice. I ordered Youfibre as soon as they went live in the first week of March.

The Youfibre customer service seems very good I'm just sorry that I dont think I will be trying the product.

I joined YouFibre in September and I'm impressed by them so far.

Their customer service is excellent - they helped me out a couple of months ago when a power surge fried the ONT: it was replaced next day at no charge (and is now behind a power surge protector).

My only criticism is that they don't have an online portal for billing, etc. but apparently there are plans for this.

It appears that all is not lost (y)

Fingers crossed

There some streetworks booked to repair the duct?

I have been informed that permissions have been requested from, Openreach and the Local Council, and Netomnia are aiming for all remediations to be completed by the 12/05/2023 :)

Netomnia\Youfibre's communication is first class, if they say they will contact\ring you they do, a good measure of a company is how well they deal with a problem, so far I'm very impressed.

Watching with interest. Would be my third provider available but Netomnia dots are appearing near me on bidb now...

On bidb I can now see that the permissions have been granted (y)

I'm curious those of you that have YF how long did it take from the contractor doing the cable work to being able to place an order / having it fitted. As mentioned back in March they wired up our street last August, and every date they've given me has been missed. The last one they said May. Contacted again today, now June/July. It's coming up to almost a year since they cabled the street!

@dabigm I set up contract back in summer 2021. Still waiting. Now they promised by end of year. (PE133T.) Wisbech.
I lost hope to get Youfibre instead that cables already in poles for over a year.

Just need to wait and hope... . Can be lucky and get soon, but if they got smallest issue, looks will be long delays.

This is what they told me:
In regards to the delays, it seem there where some issues with the back haul which connects the service to the exchange.
Therefore, we hope to connect your community by December 2023 with full fibre services.

They said they were coming too Scarborough a while ago, then suddenly removed all traces of it 😂 they didn’t seem to have an answer :/

Youfibre are definatly at and working in my location I have neighbours who are already using it. My connection is, hopfully, a simple matter of unblocking a duct.

over a year? damn. They went crazy doing build here. I would see them popping up on bidb / one network doing works all the time and then it went quiet around dec/jan. Now I see a load of work being done again so they were being honest when they told me they were still building out the town. But it's a small town and I'm surprised they're still building.

I am very hopeful to get connected, there's no reason to think I won't considering the CBT is not exaggerating literally at the end of my driveway about 7 metres from my house and there is clear ducting between me and that (was inspected by openreach a year ago when I asked for an FTTPoD on-site survey). Just getting a bit impatient now lol. If they miss the June/July date and they probably will, then it will be 1 year since cabling.

They are very, very focused on cost of build. Something like a blocked duct they'll fix, new poles they're usually fine with but where a very few customers need a ton of new duct it's a hard 'no' from Netomnia.

Their backhaul is dark fibre via PIA to an aggregation exchange and then a third party to get their customers to their edge in Manchester and/or London. Not entirely within their gift to control this.

Thanks all. Interestingly I never got any kind of letter or any announcement. I knew they were going to do my town because of online announcments and their rollout map. But I was susprised to see one day the guy standing at the end of my driveway with the cabling box and I asked him what was going on. Sadly the engineers english wasn't great and I asked him if he worked for openreach and he said yes lol. It was Opals group doing the cabling, later I learned it was on behalf of netomnia not OR.

Oh well, not much to do but wait. I have a pre-order with them but they're not very forthcoming with what is going on, I have to keep asking them when it reaches the time they estimate and that's usually when they reply back with a new estimate. I'm going to stop asking them now as it's a bit disappointing they give me a rough estimate/date and then they just give me a new one each time I follow up with them about it.
