Yozax / Seeek eSIM Discussion

How legal is it for one company to wind down and then to transfer customer data to another company under GDPR (assuming customer details have transferred over).

Any agreement you had for data to be processed would be void because the company you had an agreement doesn’t exist any more.

At the very least they should have notified customers of their intentions and given them the option to opt out.

Yeah, I find it very legally questionable. Customer details were transferred over because all I did on the Yozax website was reset a few passwords.

I don't think it's legal for them to take the 3GB off existing customers either, but I'm not a lawyer: customers were not notified of any changes to terms of service. Someone needs to challenge them here.

My Seeek eSIM transferred over a few days ago Dazzabird77, and does actually work.🥳
It currently has an expiry date of November 14th. :)
Your guess is as good as mine if it will continue to work or not after that date though. :giggle:
Did you have to pay Nicole another way? 😉😉

I don’t think changing the service is a legal issue. I’m sure the T&C of Seeek said they could withdraw the service or vary it at any point but that doesn’t include the new company.

Legally, they can’t enforce any sort of T&Cs under the new company because nobody has agreed to adhere to them as the original agreement was with Seeek who’re no longer a thing.

@garetc would you like to word a reply back to them? Got this back from them about my "forever" data and they mentioned the terms of service... but I never agreed to Yozax ToS.

Hi No No, As per section 8.1 of the terms of service, Yozax reserves the right to withdraw, modify, or amend the offer each month at any time, without prior notice. We're very sorry but it's just not something we can honour right now we're trying to rebuild and we just don't have the capabilities to fulfil this for you. You're welcome to stay and continue with the 1GB free offer or you can delete your account but unfortunately, the additional data is not an option in this scenario.

My message back to the original message was: "This message from you specifically stated that it would renew **FOREVER** and considering Seeek is essentially Yozax now (which you didn't even adequately notify people about) I believe you should still honour this," with the logs attached.

Well another month has passed and another sim has expired. The sim I was using was issued under the Seeek brand but did not renew today. I’ve emailed support on Yozax so will see if the support has improved. Will then see if the new sim auto renews, but I’m not holding out hope as it never has done since I started with them in February.

My third Seeek sim just turned into another China Mobile sim.

Neither did mine. Expired 22/10, sent a ticket 20 days ago to them with no response. Posted on their forums, had a reply after a week just saying "we will get to it" but nothing. Definitely no improvement on support since rebranding.
So much for turning their reputation around!

Just curious, is anyone still persevering with Yozax at all?

Mine was supposed to renew on the 14th of November, but it didn't, so I just deleted everything, I wasn't using it anyway and just got bored of it always failing.

Anyone still have a working eSIM?

I gave up…..paid £5 before when it was seeek…….
Never really worked and my yozax sim don’t work…

Gave up sending them a message…
Lesson learned
Thanks for your reply Dazzabird77, it seems very little has changed from the Seeek transition, I thought it might be different, but alas it doesn't seem to be.:(

I initially took the seeek eSIM as i had a Caribbean cruise and didn't wanna take the expensive option of cruise WiFi. I even paid the £5 fee.

Moving onto Yozax….appears im still in a Q,,,,,,,several messages to them go answered.

It's a very weirdly run setup altogether. 🤷‍♂️

Still nothing for me. No contact from them since 22nd October. I did post on their community forums and got a reply from Nicole saying they’d answer the tickets as soon as they can but nothing since. I’m still chasing up with them albeit not as much as I used to when it was Seeek. Clarification would be nice with their service, even an SLA would be nice.
