Zen failing FTTP regrade

I have also now been upgraded, supposedly to the 900Mbps tier, though at the moment I am only achieving about 1/10th of that (which is a bit more than I had with my former 70Mbps plan, an indicator that they have done something, but I am not sure how long it takes to actually achieve the headline speed...?)

I have the same email stating its been competed, and an email regarding a bill adjustment, however the speed tests are identical. There is no difference in either upload or download so at this point Zen are attempting to charge for a service not delivered.
I have emailed them given at this point they are demanding payment for services not delivered (i.e. fraud), though knowing how they currently respond/answer the phone I don't expect to hear anything until September.

My regrade has completed 🥳 I had to reconnect my PPPoE session to get full bandwidth but getting over 500 down over Ethernet (on the Full 500 tier). Interestingly my latency is also looking better in a BQM. Thanks to all involved in getting this resolved.

A restart of the PPPoE session has also improved mine, as the upload is now correct, however it doesn't appear possible to hit the maximum 900Mb, regardless of how many different servers/sites are used simultaneously. I appear to be capping out at around 650Mb.

Are you using the Zen provided FRITZ!Box? If so perhaps check the CPU usage under System > Energy Monitor > Statistics to check it's not bottlenecking. Also I presume the device you are testing from is connected via Ethernet?

Quick update, my speeds are now 330 down and 120 up, so while something was done its clearly not working as it should be. I have seen other people mention this issue (where only the upload appears to be increased), seems that I am in the same boat :-(

No Fritzbox, some Ubiquiti kit which is known to handle 1Gb connections, and ethernet throughout. My speeds have now dropped (on the download at least), appears I now have my old download speed but the newer upload.

Might be worth temporarily connecting up the FRITZ!Box if you have it handy just to rule out any issues with the Ubiquiti router, that's usually the first thing Zen will suggest and helped me identify a dead NIC on an EdgeRouter in the past.

Also worth noting that my IPv6 functionality has also disappeared, even after two reboots of the router/firewall.

Well my regrade, has been complete 3 days ago :)

from 300/50 to 900/120

----

Also about Ipv6 it will be disabled after regrade as the system gets reset and you need to be readded so email : ipv6@zen with your Login name zenxxxxxx@zen requesting you be reenabled to fix that..

Now you must make sure that you guys use proper download speed tests.
The popular ones @

fast.com *netflix*
speedtest.net

those are the 2 more popular but there crap.
and will report random speeds at all times of the day and make you think something is wrong with your speeds...

my recommendation is to test your speed from : http://speedtest.tele2.net
download one of the http files for instance 100gb file takes me aprox : 15-17 minutes to download.. @ between 90-135mbs

---------

also the fritx box they supply does support the speeds correclty.
im using though a asus rt-ac88u router as i need the extra features.
i will state though that i have a bt open reach engineer coming to my house on monday to do some diagnostics on my line as sometimes the speeds are erratic where by they wont constantly be downloading at there max they will fluctuate going up to there max then coming down and back up and back down instead of constantly maxing out..... hence why the bt guy will probably be doing a white light test to make sure my fiber cable is getting the optimal light exposure :)

never the less the speeds are fantastic i just hope in the future they can supply faster upload speeds.

Sadly mine hasn't gone well and its being forwarded to BTW/Openreach as since the regrade my download speeds have got worse (typically getting less than 300Mb now). Went through troubleshooting with the Zen team and something is definitely wrong behind the scenes.

Just to close the loop on this, my speeds have now been sorted thanks to some manual intervention and another disconnect just after midnight. Whatever has changed in the background appears to have fixed things and I am now getting the advertised speed :)
