ZTE Framework that converts a Three UK branded MF286d to Nordic B11

Thank you for all the time and work that has been put into this thread. I am having a problem with the first step in the process and having read through the thread I am not sure what the issue might be? Windows 11 Enterprise running as administrator, antivirus and firewall off. I have tried with the cable connected to different ports and ZTE Terminal in various compatibility modes, but each time I only get as far as:

I had a quick skim through the posts up to to post number 66, does that give any help?

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I think they had the wrong device selected (MF286R) and selecting the correct device fixed their problem. I have MF286D selected and ran the update as administrator connected to port 2 with anti-virus and firewall disabled. It only goes as far "update initializing", no progress bar. After 7-10 minutes a figure appears under "use time" - 2:38 on every attempt but one, which I think was 2:39. I have left it for up to 30 minutes after this, but there is no obvious change to the firmware.

I thought that I'd had a similar problem but didn't get the time to look for it yesterday. If you still have no luck there's a belt n braces method too...
Here's the one I was thinking about.. > here <

And here's B&B >here<

Hi all, specially to @Lucian and @meritez

Bought a locked TIM version second-hand. Software version CR_TIMITMF286DV1.0.0B17 , HW version 1.0

Is it possible to change software via ethernet without soldering?

Thanks so much !

Why especially for me? :))
@meritez @Gandi69 @dazmatic have an order of magnitude more experience than moi.
That said, my gut feeling is that you won't be able to upgrade without soldering the serial on, perhaps even then it will prove difficult.

I saw your user come up a lot ;)
That's a shame... I really bought this thinking it was a non-capped firmware, but it unfortunately it wasn't.
It accepts my spanish sim card, though. So I'm good there.
I just want to put this in bridge mode, which is not available on my TIM firmware.

Thanks for this. Got my ZTE 3 4G router unlocked first try using the first posts of this thread.....

Just one question, why is there no working link for this file :

zte mf286d Nordic to Nordic_B11 192.168.32.1 pw admin.rar

I just googled for it and pulled it off someones google drive share, but it would be a lot handier linked from here. 😄

In terms of updating the modem to B12, and remaining on the Nordic firmware, is the only option soldering a serial port?

I'm probably ok with it as it is, but when I start these things, I get that nagging feeling that it could be better , but i also don't want to spend too much time on it.
