Here's a fun story:

Three UK ZTE mf286d, debranded to Nordic B02, updated to Nordic B11.

4G worked.

Flashed to Openwrt, modem delta updated to B12.

4G worked.

Sysupgrade force flashed ZTE in Openwrt, nand corrupted, had to tftp Nordic B12 mtd8 and mtd9 from eko.one.pl

4G no longer works.

I see 3G only, the web interface shows 4G band lock enabled and can't be disabled.
Setting 4g only in network search fails with no service.
Manual search fails.

Should I downgrade to B02, should I?

Oh poops, thanks for the heads-up, won't upgrade mine any time soon.
You should go on the original modem firmware if you can.

Doesn't sound like a modem issue, more like router and modem firmware not being compatible.

f you have the console port connected, I would throw a few AT commands at the modem to see what is really happening. I would not trust the web interface always telling the full story.

Have a closer look at AT+QCFG.

How do you send AT commands via console? Could never get the context right when I tried.

Have you tried setting the IMEI in the console to the Nordic IMEI posted in the forum to see if it'll detect an upgrade?

It is a bit tricky because there are a lot of unsolicited messages being churned out by the router firmware.
Start with directing all AT responses to the console, that reduces the amount of stuff you have to type when issuing commands:

Code:
cat /dev/ttyUSB1&

Then issue AT commands as desired, e.g. get band locking values:

Code:
echo -e -n 'AT+ZNLOCKBAND?\r' > /dev/ttyUSB1
