ZTE MF286D issues

Is anyone using on of these routers on the three network and also with a mesh system?

Mine used to work well with great speeds but now I get a lot of lag when streaming. A speed test shows its fine (70/40 ish), ping is below 100 although it used to be better but everything I stream is buffering.

It used to work fine until a power cut, I assumed the router had been damaged somehow as when trying to log in to the admin page it would freeze and I had to switch it off on to allow me to log in but would freeze after a minute so had it replaced.

Even the new one has done it but I disconnected my mesh network (bt whole home) and the admin page seemed very responsive. Now I'm wondering if either the power cut did something funky to the mesh network or somehow there's a conflict of some sort with the mesh or if the router simply can't handle the number of devices on the network and the power cut is a red herring.

Anyone had similar experiences?

No I don't believe so, I think the last firmware update was 2021 but it sounds plausible. It definitely seems to be happen once the whole home wifi has booted up

What I have done is added an extra disc recently. If this is happening then that extra disc could be a problem. I did up it to 6 discs but found the whole network seemed to get slower so dropped back to 4 so this might explain it

I've decided to get rid of it anyway and get an eero 6 plus system. Don't know if it will help but ive wanted to upgrade for a while, the extra ethernet port will let me get rid of some switches.

Last night I tried switching off the whole home wifi, the router functioned correctly. Then I tried blocking every device in the whole home wifi and reconnecting it and the router still locked up, suggesting its the discs.

Then I tried setting up my old bt smart hub as an access point for the WiFi with the discs turned off, all devices connected and the router lagged.

As its the smart hub 2 that can connect to its own WiFi discs I wonder if it is doing the same thing? Either that or there's something else going on
