Zyxel NR5103EV2 having problems still?

I was thinking of buying a new, or probably more likely, used Zyxel NR5103EV2.
However, looking on the Three Community Hub there appear to be many problems with these. Constant disconnections or network dropping.
Is this this a Three issue or is it on all networks? Could it be a firmware update problem or maybe one is required?
What do you think, folks?

I see these reports often scoobyjones1, but I can honestly say, all 4 of my soap dispensers have never disconnected from any of the 4 networks unless I specifically disconnect them myself.

I've had continuous connections lasting around 9 months before I stole the SIM for something.

It may be technical differences at the various masts, I have no idea. 🤷‍♂️

Hello Wee Bear, nice to hear from you.
Is that the V2 you are talking about there? I know Three have had quite a lot of problems across England lately. Maybe the clean air up there helps? ;-)

No, it's the original router scoobyjones1, not the V2.

Thanks, maybe the bugs have been fixed on the V1 then. Might be the better buy...
No idea, it's just something I've never suffered from scoobyjones1.

No problems with origianl NR5103E either. If you want to use external antennae, the V2 only has 2 sockets (either 2x2 MIMO or restricted bands or both, not sure), the original has 4 full-bandwidth sockets so can do 4x4 MIMO on any band it's transmitted on.

Don't need the antennae but I am concerned with the problems people post online. Maybe a firmware update will calm things down. Three are not coping well at the moment in my area.

Here, Zyxel NR5103EV2 same problem since purchase (about 2 months ago),
today has disconnected a bit more than usual, about 5 times disconnect on Wifi,
difficulty reconnecting, but can reboot via the Zyxel Android wifi app.
Obvious firmware problem.

I have an NR5103Ev2 in my office. I run it in bridge mode with some UniFi kit and it has only ever dropped the connection once in the past couple months of using it. Stellar little device, I think the problems people have come from IPv6 and the routing the devices do themselves.
I switched off IPv6 and use a UniFi router instead and have no problems as i mentioned.

Thanx for the IPv6 stuff Bubbles121, I'll at some point try something similar.
Also I should point out that the Zyxel Android App currently on Playstore,
dont work proper [cannot initially login to wifi], been broken for some months
apparently [see the comments on playstore].
The working version that I have downed from some non Google APK store is,
Ver$ v1.1.2.230925 (231011, I presume this is the date in year month day format)

You gotta use the Three Broadband app, although I've a suspicion this has been merged with the My3 app it's self now.

Thanx but I'm using it on EE, not gonna use the 3 thingy. (Old Zyxel app works fine for me).
If the unit is 3 brand though you still gotta use the Three app as it's their software

Edit nevermind I didn't see on your original message where you mentioned using an older apk version of the app

I read in another post that of I use dhcp on the router then have my internal networks on mesh with another dhcp it causes dropouts. I turned off dhcp, put my internal network in a DMZ and turned off the router Wi-Fi and things are now stable. Double nating must cause the issues.
